The End of the Story

April 11, 2007:

Simon Rios entered a guilty plea today to the murder, rape and child molestation Alejandra Gutierrez. In exchange for his guilty plea the state will not be seeking the death penalty and will recommend Rios receive life without parole.

According to the Delaware County District Attorney he followed the Gutierrez family’s request to not seek the death penalty.

Mary Jane King reported her 3-year-old son Ahmad King missing on January 24, 2006 from a Jessup, Georgia Wal-Mart parking lot. She told authorities at the time of the reported disappearance that she had left her son near the car while she went to get a cart. When she returned the boy was gone.

Ahmad had been a foster child of Mary Jane King and her husband for approximately 2 years and they had just finalized his adoption the previous fall.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation organized an extensive search of the area but could not find the boy.
